kanamaham February 5, 2010 K. Narasimham (memphis but shortly returning to india) surprisingly the item reached me very fast in spite of there being no message to me from the seller.i am really happy.earlier i bought 7 inch insignia frame for [...] $from best buy.the price i felt was very high and not many features so i returned it back only to fall prey for a cheap df808c1 from [...] with similar features of dp850.but the lcd has few dead pixels.the working of the remote is quizzy.why hp should spoil its name for promoting the products of lite on?even though coby is less familiar when compared to HP it brought a competetive product to the market.
Nice look January 22, 2010 WU CHANG Nice look, high resolution, but not easy to operate. There is alwawys response delay after I push the buttons
Nice hardware horrible software January 22, 2010 Bitter Muppet (OH USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I would like to start by thanking the other reviewers of this device because that's the ONLY reason I was able to use it.
br /
br /This was given to me as a gift from my employer so I did not purchase it from Amazon.
br /
br /The book that comes with the device is useless.
br /The employees at Coby's tech support are also useless.
br /When I called Coby's support and advised them I wasn't able to add my photos to the device with the (useless) Vividshare program that launched, they advised me the device was defective because "PhotoShare" should have launched.
br /
br /The support is so bad that even at Coby's support website, if you do a search for "DP850-1G" there are no results found.
br /
br /The only way to put photos on here would be to treat it as an external hard drive.
br /
br /When the device is plugged in, you'll see a total of 4 new drives or "Devices with Removable Storage".
br /The first will be "VividShare" and have a drive letter assigned to it.
br /The next will just be "Removable Disk" with a drive letter assigned to it. This is the one you need to go into.
br /From the root of that drive you'll see a folder called "DP850". From there you can go into the "DP850 slideshow" folder and get rid of all the stupid model photos and get rid of the lame music in the "sample music" folder.
br /Now you can start taking advantage of the 1gig of space they've left you for your photos.
br /
br /Having said all that.....the DEVICE itself is really nice. It has many capabilities and is not limited to ONLY being a picture frame. If you convert a DVD to MPEG4 and put that on one of the supported card formats or on a USB drive you can even watch a full movie from this with sound.
br /
br /Coby really should consider upgrading from the irresponsible software developers and support staff to even mediocre developers and support staff and they would have a much better product.

Great value, nice resolution, non-intuitive interface January 1, 2010 J. Kaya (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I rate this frame a 4 instead of a 5 because of the inadequate manual and highly non-intuitive interface. One would think that it would be very easy to transfer photos from the computer to the frame. Turns out, the manual does not tell you how to do this and it is not obvious how to go about doing this on the frame itself. Fortunately, another reviewer has mentioned how to do this easily. Basically, treat the frame like any digital storage device, use Windows' file management system to transfer files and, you should be okay.
br /
br /It is not obvious what the difference is between photo and slideshow, and how to go about switching back and forth between the two. Again, I fault the writers of the manual who obviously did not use the product when writing the instructions. Also, the slideshow is limited to sixty pictures or fewer; the manual neglects to tell you this too. Also, using the remote, it is not obvious how to switch from the frame's memory to other storage devices. Again, the manual's fault. The frame is also a few seconds slow sometimes in responding to the remote.
br /
br /This frame is a great value for your money and it can play music and video files too. I really love the calendar, clock, and photo feature. The photos are crystal clear at 800 x 600 resolution. Overall, a good frame severely hampered by a non-intuitive interface and a poorly written user's manual.
AUTOnline Fails Again! December 15, 2009 M. Wilson (Seattle, WA. USA) 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
Although I had read the reviewers comments about sending two orders to AUTOnline only to have them suddenly canceled, I decided to tempt fate and see if this wasn't just a fluke. I guess this is why we have reviewers and ratings. I should have listened to the reviewer and the questionable ratings AUTOnline has acquired. I placed an order the second week in December. I received a confirmation that all was a go. A couple of days later, I receive a sudden email from AUTOnline that my order had been canceled due to "a massive rush of orders prior to your order and sold out". OK, so why confirm? Why still have the item on the website? This supplier lives on the cutting edge with little inventory and poor record keeping. Buyer beware! If you need it now, you may not get it now!
