4 out of 5 stars Excellent digital photo frame   February 18, 2010

After looking for a Valentine's gift, I bought this frame for my wife and she's very satisfied, all pictures, edited or not run without problems.

5 out of 5 stars Sony DPF-D82 8-Inch LCD WVGA 15:9 Diagonal Digital Photo Frame (Black)   February 8, 2010
New Product Manager (Pittsburgh, Pa)
Highly satisfied with the product. Picture quality is great. I even scanned some old prints and create jpg of them. These were displayed quite well inspite of the conversion. Setup and menu instructions were easy to follow, but consider myself tech savvy. Might take someone less technical a bit more time, but nothing so complicated that would stop anyone from getting it to work. I agree with other reviews that in random mode some pictures seem to display more than others but that may just be my imagination. Some functions on the remote are not working and still trying to figure that out. They might not be valid in certain conditions. The function to switch the picture from portrait to landscape just causes the remote to beep, yet this works fine when the frame is flipped. These are minor. Overall I would give this frame an excellent rating.

5 out of 5 stars It's Sony so no baloney!   February 1, 2010

I purchased the Sony DPF-D82 after doing a bit of research on digital frames on the web. I am extremely pleased with the unit. It works as advertised and its functions are very well thought out. I especially like the combination calendar, clock and picture theme. It is well worth its purchase price and I highly recommend it.

2 out of 5 stars picture quality was a surprise   January 27, 2010

I thought the picture quality would be a lot higher. I guess the images that looked great on my computer monitor, didn't quite "shine" on this frame. They were even a bit too light, and some of the tones seemed to wash out. I returned it, and am trying another frame that has slightly higher resolution.

3 out of 5 stars Good Frame - Watchout Mac Users   January 23, 2010

Nice Frame, good picture quality. It seems like Sony is discontinuing the 4:3 format and going widescreen. This is a shame since pictures are taken in the 4X6 format which fits better in the 4:3 screens. br / br /Noticed a major bug for Mac users. I copied over 177 pictures to a compact flash drive and popped it in the frame. The Frame is showing 354 images with half of them un-viewable ( Broken Picture icon ). Long story short I find out that the mac has included small little hidden preview files on the compact flash drive with all the files beginning with "." br / br /The Sony frame is attempting to show those files but failing. The frame should be ignoring these files but isn't. I bought a different Sony frame 6 mos. ago and didn't have this problem. So It looks like a software bug. br / br /I had a PC available so I was able to delete these files. I didn't try to figure out how to do it on the mac.
